...no matter how much I want to get there, packing kinda sucks.

It always seems to expand to fill whatever time I give it, and then some.

This message brought to you by tomorrow's expedition to WI, where I will be single-parenting JuneBug and Magpie next week while their parents go to DC (my sister is doing research at the Folger for her sabbatical; BIL is doing a bunch of mostly sports-related tourism).

I need to get up off the couch and put what I can in the car tonight so I can get out of here tomorrow at a reasonable hour. (If I leave any time after 7:45, I might as well wait until 9 because of morning rush hour.) And get the duvet cover out of the dryer. And put watering bulbs in the plants. And and and. See what I mean? There's always one more thing to do.

I'm really glad I made myself steal a couple hours at the coffee shop this afternoon before I went over to my parents' to see my cousin who's in town. That tiny bit of writing time will help sustain me for a couple days at least. Also, I'm going to try to sneak over to campus while I'm up there and have coffee with a couple of my students from last semester. Like, they want to talk Lewis Carroll and his influence on Baum and Barrie. Talk about sustaining...

(Wow, assignments came out fast - apologies for not having this up in advance!)

Thank you so much! The thought of a story in any of these fandoms is already making me happy.

I love all of these fandoms unreservedly, so if you have a yen to explore the universe, or bring in additional characters I didn't list, it's all good.

If you want more information about my requests, read on - but please don't worry if your ideas go in a different direction. Optional details are optional! I would much rather read the story you wanted to write than the story you felt you were obligated to write because of something I said. As long as it's for one of these fandoms, and uses the characters, you totally win at Yuletide. \o/

Hello, Yuletide Writer!

Welcome to the yearly chaos that is Yuletide. Thank you for offering one of these fandoms; please rest assured that I am easy to please and eager to love whatever you decide to write for me.

As always, I'll use this letter to offer an overview of what I like about each fandom and give some prompts, with the understanding that every writer approaches this differently. There are some definite themes here, but they're just ideas and spitballing, and a way for you to get a glance at what interests me. If you already have a story in mind, and/or don't need prompts and such, feel free to write whatever idea you already have. I love a (good) surprise.

I'm akamarykate on DW, LJ (though that journal's mostly defunct and I rarely even crosspost anymore), AO3, and Tumblr. I don't do a good job of bookmarking fic on AO3, but my Tumblr posts and likes might give you an idea of who I am as a fan, if you're looking for that kind of thing.

Once again, thank you for being my writer! I hope you enjoy writing the story as much as I know I'll enjoy reading it.
